PERFORMANCE AWARD SCHEME NEWS JANUARY 2008
When the Committee met in December, we agreed several amendments to the Rules. Basically, we have:
- introduced special rosettes for those gaining over 2000 points, as well as over 1000, over 500 and over 200.
- clarified that “half points for pairs” does not apply to Trec.
- awarded points for team placings at PC/RC National Finals.
- removed Equitation (side saddle) and Concours d’Elegance from the list of classes ineligible for points.
- awarded an extra 100 points for all competitions involving jumping where the course was 90cm (3’0”) or above.
- awarded points for 7th-10th places in BSJA competitions.
- increased the points for RDA and polo, and added polocrosse.
- amended the points for endurance.
- clarified that only FEI competitions are eligible for the generous international bonuses.
- added a National Final placing bonus for Quadrille, Pairs Dressage and Dressage to Music.
- added a bonus for qualifying for BD regional semi-finals at Prelim.
- added bonus points for qualifying for BSJA 2nd round, finals and area festivals.
- amended the HOYS/RIHS qualifier bonuses.
- added to the list of eligible qualifiers.
- awarded a bonus for competing at Oughterard.
These amendments apply to the whole competition year, so, for example, anyone who has already got points for show jumping, eventing etc at 90cm or above will be able to claim the extra 100 points for each such occasion from 1st October 2007.
Would driving enthusiasts please note that we have only removed the bonus for placings in the FEI National 3 Day Event Driving Championships because no one had claimed it for many years, and it was felt to be cluttering up the rules. If anyone does qualify for this bonus in future, it will of course be awarded and the paragraph reinstated in the rules.
I should like to thank everyone who sent in suggestions for rule changes, and assure you that all suggestions were discussed in detail by the Committee, even though not all were implemented.
The amended rules can be downloaded from the top of this page or HERE or obtained by sending an A5 SAE to Julia Woods, 3 High Street, Cheveley, Newmarket, Suffolk, CB8 9DQ.
If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to ask. I can most easily be contacted by e-mail: pas@britishconnemaras.co.uk For those without e-mail, my address is: Yews Old Farmhouse, Hollington, Newbury, RG20 9XU.
Wishing all competitors an enjoyable and successful season.
