From Henrietta Knight, BCPS Chairman -
Following the meeting the Chairman approached Benita Sanders to be the President Elect for the Society and to follow the current President Louki Scott. She has graciously accepted.
Due to the Performance Award Scheme committee stating that they wished to have their presentations held at a different time to the AGM in 2017 and make it a big day out due to it being their 40th Anniversary, it has been decided that the BCPS AGM will now be held at the Loyd Lindsay Rooms in Ardington, Oxon OX12 8PS on Sunday 26th November at 11am. The meeting will be followed by a talk from Crista Cullen who represented Britain in the Gold Medal winning Hockey team in Rio 2016 and whose family are deeply involved in the conservation of wildlife in Kenya and run an elephant sanctuary. She is herself strongly committed to the preservation of elephants, rhinos etc and dealing with the problems of big game poaching. She is an excellent speaker. Her talk will be followed by a buffet lunch.
Arrangements for the 2017 Breed Show are well underway and it is to be hoped that there will be more stabling onsite so that members can enjoy a social evening prior to the show, for which caterers are available. More stewards and helpers are urgently required. Please contact the office if you can help, even if it is just for a couple of hours.
It was also discussed at the meeting that the Society badly needs a Publicity Officer to promote the Breed. If anyone has any ideas, please contact the office. We badly need you!
The next Council meeting will be held on 23rd May
