Mrs Susan Clarke
It is with great sadness that we have to report that Sue Clarke died peacefully at her home in Queensland, Australia on 21st May 2012.
Sue was a renowned breeder of Connemara ponies under the Glenormiston prefix.
Many owners and breeders of Connemara ponies in Australia have reason to be grateful to Sue, who not only bred some great ponies, but also took to Australia a number of ponies of the highest quality. In spite of living so far away, Sue almost certainly held the world record as the breeder who exported ponies to the greatest number of countries around the world. She was a very well respected judge and judged at the BCPS Golden Jubilee In Hand Show at Malvern in 1997.
Sue’s many friends in England and Ireland will miss her and especially at Clifden in August, where she has represented Australia at the ICCPS meeting on many occasions, and on Clifden Show day could always be found in her accustomed ringside seat.
The British Connemara Pony Society sends its thoughts and condolences to Barton, Andrew, Sarah and Sophie at this very sad time
