Tam O’Shanter Championship and Qualifiers 2025
Run at selected affiliated shows all over the British Isles - qualification for the Tam
O’Shanter Breeding Championships at the BCPS Breed Show in July each year.
The qualifying classes are as follows:
• In-hand pure-bred BCPS registered Connemara ponies, yearlings, 2yr olds and 3yr olds– three qualifiers for each age group.
• In-hand pure-bred BCPS registered Connemara mares – three qualifiers.
The Tam O’Shanter Breeding Championship was originally started by Carole Prentice of the Scottsway Stud, to promote British Connemara pony breeding.

June 25-26th Royal Norfolk Show @ the Norfolk Showground, Norwich
June 29th South West Connemaras Show, incorporated with Poltimore Park X-Country, Exeter
July 6th Eastern Counties Connemara Show @ Suffolk Equestrian, Bury St Edmunds
July 4th-6th Kent County Show @ the Kent Showground, Detling
July 13th Lincoln & East Midlands Connemara Show @ Newark Showground
July 18th-20th Royal Lancashire Agricultural Show @ Salesbury Hall PR3 3XR

Tam O’Shanter qualifying cards which are completed, but unsigned by a show official, should be sent to Gill Evans – gillevans721@gmail.com
Gill will then check with the Show concerned and confirm qualification by return if possible.

We are pleased to announce that in addition to being the Dengie/BCPS Dressage Finals main sponsor, our trusted supporter Dengie Horse Feeds will visit the BCPS Breed Show on Friday 18th July to offer competitors the opportunity to have their pony weighed, condition scored and receive a personalised diet plan plus feed voucher. The team will be on hand from 10am until 4pm.
