Importation of equines from the EU to UK – New Borders Rules Survey

Please find below a link to a survey from the British Horse Council (BHC).

New rules around the importation of horses from the EU are due to come into force in October 2024.  The BHC would like to hear your views to make sure that they balance biosecurity, welfare, trade, and practicalities.  The new rules will mean changes in the procedures for crossing borders with live animals, including horses, from the EU to GB.  For many consignments, this will mean stops and checks at Border Control Posts, as well as fees.  The survey will take around 10 mins to complete, with the results being used to help Government develop suitable processes for the implementation of borders processes.  The survey closes on 30th June 2023.
